Since my university days, I loved to work with foreign languages. Before the high school final exams it was completely different – English was my Achilles heel and I could not imagine that I would ever be able to communicate in a foreign language. It changed when I insisted that I want to pass the English mature exam, even if at that moment I had only average results in this subject. It paid off. I was able to start language studies at university.

During my studies I was active in many circles of interest – I went to trainings in Filipino martial arts – escrima, where after years of training I became a trainer, I was a member of the Slavic club and organized concerts with Slavic music and a translation circle from which I published several of my own translations.
Employment History

 

 Soon after finishing studying at University of Rzeszów, I managed to get a job in a foreign language. Although I have a Master’s degree in Russian, I work in English. After four years of work in European projects, together with the current boss I founded the company Acumen, of which I am the chairman and which at that moment got its first project implemented under the Erasmus + program

 
Social Background  

I come from a small town near Rzeszów. Since childhood I was taught how to approach life with humor and the distance needed for it, to read a lot, to be curious and to be open to others and to like people. Thanks to this I am happy now when I can cooperate with others.

What was the inspiration?

 

 

 

 

 

 The inspiration was my previous job and the desire to have my own business. The name was invented by my boss and co-founder of the Acumen

 

 
Why did they decide to set up their tech business?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 I wanted to try my own hand in the European projects industry.

 The aim of Acumen Training is to support managing on the labour market and setting up own business.  We aim to support entrepreneurship and managing on labour market, we focus on consulting – founding and developing business and also on media production – for example on developing audio-visual learning materials and e-Learning portals, including producing learning content
What makes it unique?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 An innovative and flexible approach to work, a small group of employees who know each other well, and despite the fact that the company is young – they have been working together for years.
When did they decide to set it up?

 

 

 

 

 

 We decided to  start a new business in the same branch about 2 years ago, when we noticed a high demand for this kind of services

 

What were the main challenges/struggles to setting up?

 I think the biggest problem with breaking through the market was simply that the company was new and none of the industry partners knew it. Only after getting acquainted with the company could people learn about the many years of experience of its employees. Fortunately, this is a problem that will solve itself over time
How did they overcome these?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 As I previously mentioned this kind of problem will solve itself over time. As for now we can only prove our worth via hard work.
What were the main success factors?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The main factor here was many years of experience and knowledge in the industry, an innovative approach to work and a bit of luck

 Starting using new technologies to make work faster and more efficient, improve all workers competences and in general keep improving.
